RARE SHOW ALERT!!PLAUSIBLE THAT THIS SHOW WILL HAPPEN JUST THIS ONCE!!

Come celebrate the vinyl release show (part one) of incredible avant composer and virtuosic guitarist Lee Westwood. All tickets and bar profits go towards making the vinyl possible !!!

We are delighted to announce that we will be releasing a limited edition double vinyl retrospective of Lee Westwood’s finest works spanning over the last 17 years. (In the lead up we will digitally re release his entire back catalogue starting with the first 3 albums on 19th May)

The live show will be an extremely rare opportunity to hear these exceptional compositions for solo guitar & flute featuring the ridiculously talented flautist Philippe Barnes and ofcourse virtuoso Lee Westwood on the guitar. Then the second half will be Westwood’s brand new duo ‘Two Sided Shape’ with drummer Jools Owen (Bear's Den, Willy Mason) bringing you polyrhythmic grooves, joyous melodies, brutal timbres and ceaseless energy in a stripped back, pedal-fuelled, thundering rollercoaster of dynamics and colour. Unfasten your seatbelts and prepare to be bathed in sounds sophisticated and primordial.

Lee Westwood is one of Rose Hill Associated Artist. You may have seen him perform here as one half of Noise peddler (an improvising no input duo), avant-composer, guitarist extraordinaire and long-time collaborator with various members of team Rose Hill for the last couple decades! He is that special kind of musician - so deeply dedicated to the cause that instead of ever getting jaded he simply evolves - constantly learning and adapting whilst maintaining a frightening array of musical skills and an ever-deepening musical understanding. His music is timeless and original spanning the furthest of influences from Hungarian folk to Aphex, Jazz pioneers like Coltrane to 90’s grunge, Ravel & Debussy to deathgrips. It is hard to pin this guy down. He is always moving the goal posts with boundless energy and fertile creativity. Highlights include playing as part of folk hip hop band Dizraeli and the Small gods, Avant -pop bands Moulettes and Le Juki compositions being played by members of LSO and Riot Ensemble, creating soundtracks for a magnum installation at MOMA, New York and supporting countless guitar and folk legends around the globe.

Phillipe Barnes is three-time runner up in the BBC Young Folk Awards, Philippe was featured playing whistle and flute on Amy Dickson’s platinum selling album Dusk & Dawn. He joined her and the London Chamber Orchestra live at the Royal Albert Hall for the Classical Brit Awards. He has also played for the likes of Shakira , Ellie Goulding & The Proclaimers and Bryn Terfel.
