Furrowed 28/10/25 - 30/10/25

July 21, 2025

Make sure to get yourself to the live sharings/shows on 29th and 30th September.

Furrowed (Dylan Beattie) makes and plays weird records. He is a producer, lecturer and sound artist using circuit-bent record making equipment and electronics to create one-off performances. As part of this unique approach, sound is ‘tattooed’ live to blank disc by hand as multiple pickups trace grooves in modified surfaces. His sonic palette ranges from electronic and melodic tones, to hypnotic and cross-rhythms, analogue surface glitches and sound fragments as he inscribes sound from various sources directly to disc. Locked grooves provide structure as records are overlaid with new sounds and artefacts from tonearm behaviours. Expect lo-fi looping, clicks, pops and crunch as records are made, celebrated and destroyed live.

During this residency, Furrowed will be creating and performing new work over two nights exploring exciting collaborations with solo and ensemble performers. Collaborators include: Jules Arthur (Piano), Bunty (vocals /FX), FROST (drums / FX), Alexander Painter (cello / saxophone / FX), R Elizabeth (Tape loops/electronics) and Rival Self (Turntables/FX). This is likely to include improvisation, distributed performances across multiple discs, spaces, turntables and materials. For anyone who loves weird grooves, records and other one-off sonic happenings.
