  • The Rose Hill 70 Rose Hill Terrace Brighton, England, BN1 4JL United Kingdom (map)

THURSDAY 7TH AUGUST 2025 | 7PM | £10 + booking fee // (£13 otd)

We have connected with excellent Hastings promoter and label boss responsible for alot of the experimental music which happens and are delighted that they are bringing their first show to Brighton !!! We have ….. wait for it ……..

pip - Unpredictable PTSD free improv paparazzi ensemble

pip began life in June 2024 as an investigation into dealing with ptsd and the day to day challenges of life in the world as we find it. This has been achieved most ferociously through the medium of freely improvised sound and noise-making. Right from their first gig, supporing El Khat at the Piper in Hastings in the autumn of 2024, they have been a living tribute to the immense capacity for renewal that is held within every one of us from tiniest moment to tiniest moment. People have discerned echoes as diverse as Milford Graves and Throbbing Gristle in the music they make but comparisons are not requisite when pip let rip.

Haydn Ackerley - Borough Council and Beau Flies powerhouse deconstructs expectations.

A rare solo show from Borough Council frontman (and Beau Flies bass-player) Haydn Ackerley promises to rebuild some familiar songs from the bottom up and define some new ones from the top down. Haydn’s two previous lone wolf appearances have drawn comparisons to fellow Hastings denizen John Martyn, who Otti Albietz’ dad used to roadie for.

Alistair Strachan & Otti Albietz - one-off real time debut joint improvisation

‘Al Strachan and Otti Albietz will be busying themselves with various sounds and textures, endeavouring to investigate the space between making it up as you go along and meticulously choreographed actions. A welcome reminder that the serious act of music creation can also be fun.’
