SUNDAY 5TH OCTOBER 2025 | 7PM | £8 ADV / £6 CONCS

An evening of six formations composed by Gus Garside, Annie Kerr and Andrew Greaves performed by 14 incredible musicians.

PROGRAMME:

20 YEARS by Gus Garside
originally composed for and performed at the Con Club Lewes to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Safehosue Music Collective

Masters Haus
by Andrew Greaves
Inspired by Andrew’s recent visits to the Bauhaus city of Dessau, Germany. In this piece, 8 players take a guided virtual tour around the rooms of adjoining Walter Gropius designed houses and are tasked with applying visual design principles of these creators to sonic performance throughout their journey

Concordia by Annie Kerr
a piece in 5 short sections performed by 7 musicians The musicians select all their own notes to create chords and musical fragments and make most of their own decisions on how and when to play them. By listening and responding to each other through some inevitable discords and chaos, they gradually find a way to build a sense of completion and Concordia together.

Den by Annie Kerr
Phrases and individual words from Annie’s poem are vocalised by the reader who selects them at random. Each line is playfully responded to by duos and trios of players and freely interpreted by all 7 players. After falling away to silence, the piece ends with an accompanied reading of the complete poem. It aims to transport you to the wonky hide-out you used to play in.

3+3x2 by Andrew Greave
An experiential piece for 3 players. The players have no prior knowledge of the instructions or form of the piece. At various stages new instructions are revealed to the players, resulting in an unfolding adventure for all.

Developing Cumuli by Gus Garside
A new version of Gus’s earlier piece “CUMULI” which he originally wrote for and rehearsed and performed with GGRIL, a large improvising ensemble in Quebec. Performed by the whole ensemble
