The Clod Ensemble - Sound Affects: Sound & Wellbeing Workshop

Placebo, Clod Ensemble.jpg

Sound affects us all. Music alters moods, intonation changes inclination, but why? Drawing on the latest research and technological advancements in psychoacoustics, we invite you a workshop to explore the relationship between sound, acoustics and wellbeing. Lend us your ears and decipher the psychological and physiological responses we have to everything from music to noise pollution.

Sound Affects is part of Clod Ensemble's Placebo season - a programme of public events inspired by Clod Ensemble's performance, Placebo. The season brings together scientists, artists, architects, anthropologists, neurologists and psychiatrists to deal head-on with many of the questions that the topic of ‘placebo’ inspires. We hope by bringing together these many different perspectives we will spark conversation about what makes us feel better and the ramifications for how healthcare is provided.

Clod Ensemble's Placebo is at Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Brighton on 16-17 October 2018. Book tickets here.
