CHINABOT : Samin Son + Lafidki + Lujiachi

Lost Property and The Rose Hill present a very special night, with performances from a trio of artists who operate within the collective CHINABOT, a project aiming to create another narrative in contemporary music from Asia.

SAMIN SON

Samin Son is a Korean born, Berlin based artist working in a range of mediums including painting, sculpture, video, installation and sound with performative strategies.His work has featured in exhibitions throughout New Zealand and on an international platform including Germany, Serbia, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, USA and Australia.

He has also organised live music and art events with magazine White Fungus. For Solo 2014 Samin has created a deeply personal performance work based on his own experiences growing up in New Zealand and attending military service in Korea.


LUJIACHI

Lujiachi is the member from Taiwan based drone/ambient group Scattered Purgatory. His sound based on guitar & synth, are all aesthetically rooted in oriental soil but combined with the essence of psychedelic, krautrock, world music, industrial and club music – the significantly growth throughout these years had made him qualified as one of the most representative artist of Taiwan’s scene. He has released album on France’s WV Sorcerer Production and featured in compilation on London based Label Chinabot.


LAFIDKI

LAFIDKI is a london based sound/visual artist, and founder of Chinabot, a label and platform created to change the dialogue surrounding Asian music.Theses last tracks were released via Orange Milk records (Foodman, Kate NV, Ashley Paul..).He later founded Chinabot, an asian diasporic experience. 

Lafidki is a sound artist and conceptual collagist who performs around the world. His music is an confluence of ideas, synthesising multiple underrepresented histories, geographies, musical genres and cultural signifiers into compelling, colourful sonic material that packs contemporaneous dancefloor weight. 

Lafidki played international festivals VIA 2012 (Pittsburgh), Nuit blanche - French Institute 2016 (Kyoto/Japan) ,Siam Museum (Bangkok/Thailand), Sonic Moon (Hanoi/Vietnam), Electrona (Hobart/Tasmania), represented Cambodia at Tallinn Music Week.. And shared stage w/ Hype Williams, KXP, Lydia Lunch, James Ferraro, Maria Minerva, Molly Nilsson, 
Andy Stott, Com Truise, Laurel Halo...


Daniel W J Mackenzie will be DJing between the performances, offering a selection of sounds influenced by CHINABOT and historic Asian music.
